Hey again! Here are 15 facts about Narwhals:
  • Narwhals are the Unicorns of the Sea.
  • They are pale-colored porpoise found in the Arctic waters and rivers.
  • Males have a tooth that is a sword-like tusk, it grows to 8.8 feet.
  • The tusk grows through the Narwhals upper lip.
  • Females do sometimes grow their own small tusk.
  • Scientists are not sure what the tusk is used for but they think it's used to fight or used for mating rituals.
  • Narwhals are related to bottlenose dolphins, belugas, harbor porpoises and orcas.
  • They eat fish, shrimp, squid and other sea animals.
  • They swim in groups from 15 to 20.
  • Their size is 13 to 20 feet.
  • They weigh 3,500 pounds.
  • People hunt Narwhals for their tusks and skin, it is a source if vitamin c.
  • They are carnivores.
  • Narwhals have spots and newborns are gray.
  • Their scientific name is Monodon monoceros.
